Inky and Muggy Bake Cookies

Let me introduce you to one more of Emma's stuffed animals.  Her name is Muggy.  She is a Pug.  When she gets together with Inky you can usually plan on them getting into some trouble or making a mess.

One day Inky and Muggy were playing under Emma's bed.  They heard Emma talking how she would really like some chocolate chip cookies.  Not just any chocolate chip cookies, but some really good ones that were still warm right out of the oven!  So they waited until Emma's parents were outside doing some yard work and they sneaked into the kitchen.  They knew that the first ingredient in any good chocolate chip cookies is ..... chocolate chips of course.  So Muggy let Inky climb up her like a ladder and get the chocolate chips out of the pantry.

Then Inky said that she thought that there was a cookie recipe on the back of the chocolate chips.  She was right.  Inky read the recipe while Muggy got out all the ingredients.  Eggs, flour, sugar, butter and a bunch of other stuff.

Inky would tell Muggy how much to put in the bowl of each ingredient and then Muggy would put it in.  The eggs were kind of tricky to break.  She made kind of a mess.

Once they got all the ingredients in the bowl they had to mix it all up.  That was really hard.  In fact, it was so hard that Muggy couldn't do it by herself.  Inky had to help.  Together, they were able to stir it.

Then they got out the pan.  Muggy had a great idea!  Before they put the cookie dough on the pan they could use it like a sleigh.  They went down the stairs riding on the cookie pan.  It was lots of fun!

They spooned out the cookie dough onto the pan and put them in the oven.  They set the timer and waited.  It seemed like a long time, but it wasn't really very long.  Then the buzzer went off and the cookies were done.

While they were still nice and warm they both ate the cookies.  They tasted so good!  Emma was going to love these.

So they made a plate of cookies for Emma and gave them to her.  She was so excited.  She said how did you know that I wanted cookies.  Inky and Muggy just smiled.

Inky's Late Night Snack

One of Emma's favorite pets is Inky.  She is a little black and gold terrier that is a lot of fun.  She is so cute!  Inky almost always wears a bright pink collar that makes her even cuter.

Well it was a school night and Inky and Emma had been busy all evening.  There was always plenty to do on a school night.  As usual, Emma did not want to go to bed even though she was tired.  Her mom got her showered and brushed her teeth.  She crawled into bed and said her prayers, but she did not want to go to sleep.  Inky climbed into bed too and snuggled up in the covers.  Inky could tell that something was wrong.  She heard Emma tell her Dad that she was hungry.  Her Dad said that it was time for bed now and that they hadn't eaten very long ago.  Well, this made Inky feel bad for Emma.  So she crept out of the bed, through the hall and down the stairs into the kitchen.  She climbed up into the pantry to see what food she could find.  There it was!  Doritos!  One of Emma's favorite foods.  So she pulled out the bag of Doritos.

It was a big bag for Inky to drag around because she is a pretty small dog.  Somehow she got it down.  Then she had to get a bowl to put the chips in.

Then she got the chips out of the bag and put them in the bowl.  Of course she had to sneak a few for herself.  No wonder Emma liked these so much.  They were good!

Now that Inky had gotten the chips in the bowl she had to get them up the stairs to where Emma was.  This was really hard because now Inky was stuffed from all the chips she had eaten!

Finally she made it up all of the stairs and into Emma's room.  She gave the chips to Emma who was very surprised.  She patted Inky on the head and gave her a big hug to thank her for the chips.  Then she ate them all up and rolled over to go to sleep.  Inky wrapped herself up in Emma's arm and went to sleep too.  She knew that in the morning Emma's Mom and Dad would be trying to figure out how come Emma had a bowl and a bunch of crumbs in her bed.  She knew that no one would think that she had anything to do with it though.  After all, who would think that a little stuffed dog could have done all of that?  Emma and Inky fell asleep dreaming about tomorrow's adventures.

The Start of Our Story

This blog is about a girl named Emma and her many pets.  Emma doesn't have any real pets, unless you count her goldfish.  However, she has a whole bunch of stuffed animals that she likes to pretend are real.  Each story will feature some of Emma's stuffed animals in their imaginary adventures.  My daughter and I wrote it for our enjoyment, but we hope you enjoy it too.
